The Glowdown Podcast Episode: "Healthier" Cocktail Recipes


We started The Glowdown Podcast about a year ago! We wanted to give you the G(lowdown) on all things beauty, health, wellness, and ways to get glowing from the inside out! By we, I mean (me Samantha Albano) and my friend Hallie Peilet! We met a few years ago when she started coming into my small biz Purify An Urban Sweat Lodge, and we both learned pretty quickly that we shared similar interests and wanted to help others, so we put our passions into a podcast! The Glowdown Podcast was born!




In this week's episode, we dive right into "healthier" alcohol beverage options. We both surprised each other with two recipes each and made the drinks while catching up. As Labor Day weekend approaches, we decided to post the ingredients and recipes here on the blog! You can listen now by clicking the link below.

Sam's drink option #1:

Tito's with a twist of lime


Ingredients:

  • Sprig of Rosemary

  • One organic lemon

  • Your preferred vodka, I used Tito's. It is gluten-free!

  • One mason jar with a lid

  • Organic honey

  • Martini glass


Directions:


Cut up the lemon into slices

stick the sprig of rosemary through each lemon slice

place in jar

Next, pour in as much vodka as you would like and cover with the lid for one week.

Get out your martini glass

drizzle honey around the inside

then add the infused vodka and a decorative sprig of rosemary

cheers!



Hallie's drink option #1:

La piscine (is what the French call ice with wine!)


Ingredients:

  • Rose

  • ice

  • optional: frozen strawberries

Directions:


Simple. Pick out your favorite Rose and lots of ice. Then, add both to a glass, drop in a few frozen strawberries and sip!









Sam's drink option #2:

Ranch Water

  • Topo Chico

  • Tequila

  • organic lime

optional:

  • a splash of pineapple juice

  • a tajin rim for a bit of spice

Directions:


First, Pour out some of the topo chico into another glass. Don't let that ish go to waste!

Second, add in the tequila of your dreams right to the topo chico bottle.

Third, drop in some lime juice.

Fourthly, this is optional, but you can either salt the bottle's rim or add tajin around it. You may also add in a splash of pineapple juice.

Drink up!


Hallie's drink option #2:

  • Tito's vodka

  • Cucumber tonic water

  • Ice

Directions:


mix it up to your liking and preference, whether you like it stronger or weaker & enjoy!!
